Why is it necessary to learn Vedic Science?

We must preserve our ancient wisdom. Learning the Vedas can be an incredibly enriching experience for several reasons. The Vedas are ancient texts that not only represent a deep spiritual and philosophical tradition but also offer insight into the cultural, intellectual, and moral foundations of our Indian civilization.

For example, Rigveda is the first book of Sanskrit literature. The Rigveda has a total of 10 Mandalas, 1028 Suktas; 10,462 Richas, and 10,552 Mantras.. Poems praising various forces of nature that are considered deities are found in the Rigveda. Each mantra in Rigveda is called 'Richa'. It is believed that Maharishi Vyas made the arrangements for Rigveda, and it has been observed that 10 mandalas are practiced.

In the Purusha Sukta, the concept of Virat Purusha is presented. It is described that the Brahmins, Kshatriyas, Vaisyas, and Shudras were created from the various parts of this Virat Purusha. The Vedic texts are called Apaurusheyas because they were composed of many sages, and these texts were passed down from the Guru to the disciples through recitals transmission.

In his grammar text, the Mahabhashya, Patanjali mentions that the Rigveda has 21 branches. The Rigveda had five main branches: Ashvalayan, Bashkal, Mandukeya, Shakala, and Shankhayan. However, currently, only the Shakala and Bashkal branches are available and studied. This is a step towards a broader movement to preserve and promote Vedic traditions, practices, and spiritual growth.

"Considering the potential harm to Sanatana Dharma from the gradual closure of Vedic schools in India, Shri Sadguru Sahajanand Saraswati Maharaj, in the name of his Sadguru, undertook the work of promoting Vedic studies."

Over the past three decades, he has produced numerous Ghanapathis, and the quality of education provided to the students is also very high. Teachers honored by all the renowned institutions established by Shankaracharyas, such as Sringeri and Kanchi Kamakoti, are invited as examiners. Ghanapathi is one of the highest postgraduate achievements, considered equivalent to a PhD.
